Find out how much you need to retire — or reach Financial Independence — based on your savings rate and expected returns.
Retirement / FIRE Calculator
Years to retirement—
Monthly expenses at retirement (inflation-adjusted)—
Required retirement corpus—
Projected corpus (at current savings rate)—
Surplus / Shortfall—
Required monthly savings to hit target—
How This Works
Required corpus is calculated using the safe withdrawal rate: your future annual expenses divided by the SWR gives the corpus needed to sustain withdrawals indefinitely without depleting principal (adjusted for inflation).
Projected corpus grows your current savings plus monthly contributions at your expected return rate until your target retirement age.
Safe Withdrawal Rate (SWR)

Very conservative, early retirement / FIRE
Lower SWR = larger required corpus, but more sustainable for very long retirements (especially relevant for early-retirement/FIRE scenarios spanning 40+ years).
Illustrative only. This calculator uses simplified assumptions (constant return, constant inflation, constant savings rate). It is not financial advice. Market returns are never guaranteed and actual results will vary. Consult a financial advisor for personalised retirement planning.
